Flyers urged to check British Airways T5 flights
The airline is set to begin the process of moving its operations to the new Terminal 5 on this date, meaning that some flights may be taking off from a different terminal to that previously specified.
Flights due to move on March 27th consist of all of the carrier's domestic and European services - apart from those to Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, Nice and Helsinki.
Services to Tripoli, Johannesburg, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Miami will also move to the new terminal on this date.
Further intercontinental flights will be moved on April 30th, except those to Singapore, Sydney and Bangkok.
Passengers are advised to verify their bookings so they know which terminal to use and to check in online in advance wherever possible.
"The opening of Terminal 5 heralds a new era in air travel. Customers can look forward to a calmer, smoother, simpler airport experience at Heathrow," commented Robert Boyle, commercial director at British Airways.
In related news, Transport for London has announced that it is to run up to 16 buses an hour to the new terminal from March 27th, linking the hub to locations across Greater London.
